Met een druk op de knop stijgt de Parrot AR Drone op en blijft hij een meter boven de grond stil zweven. Je kan hem dan besturen door je smartphone of tablet te bewegen of via de knopjes op je scherm. Wil je landen dan klik je op "landen" en maakt de Parrot AR Drone automatisch een rustige landing. De Parrot AR Drone 2.0 beschikt over een 720p HD camera en een overzichtscamera. Een camera is aan de voorkant gemonteerd, zodat u op het scherm kunt zien waar u heen vliegt en de tweede camera zit aan de onderkant bevestigd. Deze camera's kunnen gebruikt worden om foto's te maken, maar ook om films in HD Kwaliteit mee op te nemen.
