parrot drone 2 firmware

Uh-oh, it looks like your Internet Explorer is out of date. For a better shopping experience, please upgrade now. Meet Bebop 2, a second-generation Parrot Quadricopter Drone. First in its weight class to surpass 20 minutes of autonomous flight time, this sleek and durable drone doesn’t just travel far, it travels well. The 3-axis digital stabilization offers pilots a fixed angle of the view, regardless of altitude or turbulence. The 14mpx, 1080p camera captures the moment via live streaming video or recorded clips. Take in the horizon with a stunning 186° field of view and keep track of your location with the new, powerful rear flash LED. Fly for up to 25 minutes at speeds of up to 42 feet per second.Ages: 14+This device complies with CPSIA Regulations. Please visit our website to check the availability of this functionality. The project has involved two companies: CRP Technology and PARROT. The aim is the construction of the First Leisure Drone: Bebop 2. Reinforced composite materials that were used in the construction of on-car and wind tunnel parts and components for racing teams have taken the technology of 3D Printing to new heights to produce parts for the entertainment industry and consumers.

Parrot Bebop 2 combines robustness and reliability in a lightweight and compact drone. Powerful with impressive stability and maneuverability even in extreme conditions, Bebop 2 offers very easy-to-use piloting with no learning. Data collected by seven sensor are analyzed and merged thanks to the impressive calculation capability of its onboard computer.

Digitally stabilized on 3-axis thanks to powerful algorithms, images are bright, perfectly stable and without distortion regardless of the drone movements. Numerous systems reinforced the safety of the flights: emergency cut-out feature of the engines, emergency cut-out feature of the propellers in case of contact, limitation of the altitude and of the flying perimeter, automatic return home feature and a LED, at the back of the machine, to understand the direction of the flight while keeping the drone in sight.

Parrot has developed the final Bebop 2 version with the help of Windform GT material. The first Bebop 2 structure was built on injected parts made with polyamide based glass reinforced composite material. Then Parrot moved to SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) technology in collaboration with CRP Technology in order to: optimize the structure performance without developing long lead time and high cost injection tooling facilitate production in series Parrot carried out an original development approach based on experimental diagnosis and FE model aimed at improving the quality of the video during flight (which is usually altered by the vibrations of the drone) through the optimization of drone design. The structure has been manly developed according to that target and by finding smart design to reduce weight. Parrot validated that natural frequencies of parts manufactured with Windform GT material were similar to injected parts with polyamide based glass reinforced composite material.

Combined to FE analysis Parrot has reduced dramatically the development time. Parrot was also able to evaluate toughness of the product structure (a consumer drone as Bebop 2 is a flying machine led to fall quite often with beginners). Parrot highlights others advantages obtained with Additive Manufacturing and Windform GT material: make small batches of production with acceptable mechanical properties to provide functional products to the team (i.e. very helpful to develop others product’s functionalities like flying performances) good aesthesis if needed The Bebop 2 parts in Windform GT are the main structure (central body) and all singles arms. The body is robust and flexible, and the arms are reinforced. By CRP Technology point of view the requirements were fast iteration process, best ratio between structural strength and weight, acceptable consistent result and opportunity to combine multiples functionalities from one unique part. CRP Technology provided fast response time to new requirements, very good cooperation with its engineers and CAD designers, and best output quality with unique proprietary process.

As I mentioned earlier, we’ve got an AR Drone to play with. One of the common mods that popped up on the internet were ways of extending the range on the AR Drone. It normally uses a local Wi-Fi connection to your phone or tablet for control and video signals. Many found this quite restrictive and have gone pretty far in extending that range. The first and easiest was just to set up a higher power Wi-Fi Bridge where you’ll be flying. The Drone only has about 15db of wi-fi magic in it, so anything stronger than that is an improvement. There were too many variations on this to delve into the details, but as you see, there’s not much too it. The second method is to completely replace the Wi-Fi control system with a nice R/C controller. This will greatly increase your range as well as give you extra channels for triggering different attachments (usually lights). I’ve seen two main methods used. One is called “MacGuyver mod”. This one is a plug and play kit that doesn’t seem to have much info along with it.
