iPhone users may have to put up with the disdainful stares of non-Apple users, but we all know they’re just jealous. Not of the phone, but of the fact that despite its notoriously inferior technology, companies that come up with the funkiest accessories almost always design solely for the iPhone. Here are the top 10 iPhone accessories we want, but don’t really need: 1. Megaphone by en&is, from €399 This elegant ceramic amplifier isn’t an electronic device, what’s cool about it is that it’s designed to optimise the best sound output with its form. Slot in your iPhone for some headphone-free fun. Even if you don’t use it often, the Megaphone is a pretty cool centrepiece for the swanky bachelor (or bachelorette) pad. 2. 50’s Style B model headset, $160 You really don’t need this, but that doesn’t make it any less desirable. This dock has a wireless receiver that pairs with your iPhone via Bluetooth, so you can pick up calls the old-fashioned way when you’re at your desk.

It only ships within the United States, but you know what they say; when there’s a will, there’s a way. 3. Hi-Sleep speaker pillow, €19.99 If you have the habit of falling asleep to music, this might actually be something you need. This pillow doesn’t require any batteries; just plug and play from your iPhone and let the soft lilt of music lull you into a deep sleep. 4. 3-in-1 iPhone photo lens by olloclip, from US$69.99

Lomography iPhone film scanner, US$59 If you hare a fan of 35mm film, or have a huge stash of old negatives at home, you’ll go crazy with this one. It turns negatives into positives that you capture on your phone. The result is vintage snapshots, no filter necessary. 6. It has a small trigger at the side that will launch a ball bearing through a myriad of obstacles to land in either “no” or “yes”. Perfect for making major life decisions. Pebble watch is an ambitious project that connects to iPhones and Android devices and alerts you to incoming calls, emails and messages. Its fully customisable interface uses the e-paper technology most popularly seen on Kindle devices. These are hands-down the most useless accessories for your iPhone. Still, some of them are just too adorable to resist. Check out that kitten hanging off the edge of your phone, or the little Minnie Mouse cupcake. Watch movies and have video calls in comfort with this portable mini projector. Handy for show-and-tell sessions of your photo gallery too. 10. Parrot A.R. Drone Quadricopter, US$369.99 Save this toy for yourself, not your kids. This quadricopter is built with a front-facing HD camera that allows video recording and still image capturing, and comes with the Drone 2.0 application that offers augmented reality games.

It was a little RC helicopter with two functions. It went up, then it went down.

The worst part was that you really didn't tell it where to go, the wind did! Even though the range was only 30 feet with a flight time of about 40 seconds, I still remember waiting for it to charge, going out to fly, crashing it, and at the end of the day I still wanted more.Fast-forward about six years later and here we are today, in a world where little palm sized quadcopters can maneuver in any direction they want, fly faster than you can run, and even record video. Before talking about each drone individually, you should know that there are other drones out there, all with similar prices, but these are the most popular, and my personal favorites. All three of these drones are very fast and agile (unlike most co-axle helicopters), so they can be a bit challenging to fly at first. But once you learn how to properly fly one of these with confidence, you should be able to fly almost any quadcopter (including bigger and more advanced models like the DJI Phantom 2). In the box, you're getting the quadcopter, battery, controller, charger and it even comes standard with a 720P camera. One of the best features about the Syma X5C is that it's almost indestructible and it's supper fun to fly. It's also much larger than the Hubsan X4 which makes it easier to see while flying and harder to lose or step on, so if you're planning on buying drones for kids, the X5C is a great option.Another thing you can do with the Syma X5C is use it like a mini training drone for the Phantom 3. For example, if you want to fly the Phantom 3 manually, but you're too scared to watch it drift all over the place and potentially crash, you can use the X5C to build more confidence by practicing all of the maneuvers that you're not comfortable doing with the Phantom. The Proto X is the worlds smallest commercially available quadcopter on the market. It's a great little drone to fly around and annoy your dogs and cats with. The best part about the Proto X is that it comes with everything you need to fly for only $28.99 USD, making it one of the cheapest drones you can buy.

One downside about the Proto X is that the battery is pretty hard to remove. So if your planning on buying more batteries for continuous flying, then the Hubsan will be a better option. Over all, I think that the Proto X is a great stocking stuffer or birthday gift. It's fun to fly, but if it breaks after a month it's cheap enough to replace. The Hubsan X4 is a great little quadcopter. It's a bit bigger than the Proto X, making it much easier to see when flying far away. Another feature is with the X4 is the removable battery. Unlike the Proto X, you can remove the battery from the Hubsan X4 without having to take the cover off, making it much easier to change the batteries out. All of these drones have spare parts available, but the Hubsan has an optional propeller guard to help keep the motors and props from breaking. You can even buy a set of bigger batteries that will provide more flight time, and an upgrade charger for charging up to 4 batteries at once. Out of all the cheaper drones out there, my favorite is the Hubsan X4 with the built in 720P camera.

You can find a Hubsan X4 with "a camera" for under $60 USD, but the lower priced models don't have the 720p camera. Just like the other Hubsan X4, this quadcopter flies great. The only downside (compared to the one without the camera) is that the flight time is slightly less and it's a tiny bit heavier. Let me know in the comments if you'd like me to do a full video review of the Hubsan X4. All of these drones are slightly different, but the biggest difference in functionality between the two Hubsan models and the Proto X are the controllers that they come with. One reason why the Proto X is my least favorite in this list is because of the tiny controller that it comes with. It's so small that you hardly have anything to hold on to. Plus, it doesn't have as many features as the Hubsan controller does. The good news is that the Hubsan controller will actually work perfectly with the Proto X, but adding the better controller will bring the price up by $19, making it about the same price as the Hubsan X4.
